Golfers at Mill River to face a New Hazard

Golfers participating in this year’s 50th Anniversary PEI Sports Hall of Fame Golf Tournament at Mill River on August 24 can expect an added thrill lurking in the bushes — the wayward pencil of the Island’s best-known cartoonist, Wayne Wright.  Wright will be on hand to present each golfer with a complimentary caricature as they navigate their way around Prince County’s premier golf course this August.

Wright, a former poet laureate of the Peter Gzowski Invitational Golf Tournament, is also the artist behind the PEI Sports Hall of Fame portrait gallery, and has been entertaining Islanders with his award-winning daily cartoon strip in the Summerside Journal Pioneer since 1979.
